During this short talk, I would like to address a dangerous beast and introduce you to that beast, so that you may defeat it. Okay? The beasts name is the shiny object syndrome. Okay?

As you're following your endeavor, whether it be singing, whether it be acting, whether it be business, whether it be anything in a grab bag of things in the world that you're trying to pursue, you're trying to do you're trying to achieve, there will always be distractions, there will always be things in the way and out of the way.

Are things in the way that will distract you and lead you off of your path that will be like a magnet and pull you off of your path that you're trying to forge? And you need to be very alert and weary of these shiny objects. And the point of this short talk is to help you to identify the shiny objects.

And to understand this principle, there is an opportunity of a lifetime, every single week. And as time goes by every single day, and as your email, as you start to subscribe to people that you look up to, that you follow that you admire, they will have their offers as they're forging their paths.

And you and they're going to be some of them may be enticing to you. And it is very important to be very disciplined with who you follow who you subscribe to. So that you can stay focused on forging your path.

It is okay to have people that you follow. As we talked about an earlier podcast about having your top dream 100 people that you would like to do business with that you think it's totally impossible or believe is totally impossible right now. They could be the biggest names in whatever industry you're in, or topic or category that you're in are working toward, in your endeavor.

People that are more successful than you people that are out of touch to you at the moment, but right now, it's okay to follow those people, but and to see what they're doing, how they're doing it. But be careful not to turn around and just start falling into their marketing and falling into the trap of buying a whole bunch of products.

And they're going to entice you with deadlines and the deals will sound too good to be true. And I promise you, you will not miss out, they will tell you that you're missing out. But you're not missing out. In fact, if you stop your path, if you step up, if you offer your path, and you and you buy someone's course, which then sets you on a new path.

There's two problems with this based First off, there is a fallacy. That might not be the right word. But essentially, there's a sense of accomplishment that people feel just by purchasing a product. They feel like they have taken a step in the right direction. And the reality is they have not they've stepped off their path.

They have been distracted and it will slow you down may take you off your path and at the end of the day, hinder your journey. Remember that we only have a certain amount of time, time is more important that money.

Time is our currency and we need to be good stewards of our time. And so be aware of the shiny object syndrome as I'll define is this is when you allow yourself to be enticed by an offer of the week and opportunity of the decade and opportunity of a lifetime.

Please say no learn the power of saying no, we'll talk about this more. But stay laser focused on your path. I've chosen this channel, I will work on this channel until it is successful before I start another channel.

No matter if someone sends me an email saying, here's how you can make $10 million on a YouTube channel, I will not make that YouTube channel, I will not I will you, I will filter out the noise, you want to have as little noise as possible in what you're doing.

You want it to be simple, you want it to be peaceful, you want it to be, you want to be in your element, and you can't get into your element if you are bombarding yourself by allowing these shiny objects into your mind space. So it's good to unsubscribe or easier to just start a new email account for specifically for what we're doing here of forging your own path, check, follow your dream 100. And that's it.

And maybe even start with just 10 of them until you get better at filtering and saying no. So I'm urging you right now not to buy anything, we haven't covered how yet to know what to buy, when to buy. But I promise you, I don't care. If you have a million dollars in the bank, you don't know what to buy yet.

And you shouldn't buy anything yet. Okay. Forging Your path is free. It doesn't cost you a dime to do it doesn't cost you a dime to find your voice. You don't need fancy software these as they do this podcast.

As I started this, I was faced with the prospect of you need certain software's you need to learn how to mix the audio, you need to do speech to text you need to publish to certain platforms. And at the end of the day, I said no to all of that. I'm going to record raw, I'm going to hit record on a simple recorder on my phone, then I'm going to publish, I'm going to keep the mistakes.

And I'm not going to edit anything. I just cut out everything that would be a distraction to me. And it doesn't matter. In fact, it's better you will stand out from the other people who are trying to make their thing perfect and shiny and new and Hollywood like and at the end of the day. That's not what we're trying to do.

If your stuff is content heavy, which and it provides value. It doesn't matter if it's perfect. In fact, it's better if it's not because you come across as the genuine person that you are.

So in this way, I really would urge you to say no to the shiny object syndrome, not to fall into it. Learn how to filter out anything that would pull you or distract you or slow you down from your path. All right. God bless for now.
