All right, this is Derek Soto, we're gonna talk about on this podcast about jumping horses. And what I mean by jumping horses is jumping from, especially if you're a doer. Even if you're not a doer, if you're not, if you're a doer, I see a lot of doers doing this. And these are millionaire doers.

By the way, I'm going to talk about doers I talk about people usually talk about people that are very successful. And one of the things I see them, some people do is they just jump horsies, you know, so what they're doing is they run a promotion for this, and then they run a promotion for that.

And they run a promotion for this, and it gets all very confusing, and you're like, Oh, my goodness, what does this person even do? You know, what's their business? What's their primary main objective? You know, and it gets chaotic and crazy. And the best thing that I've seen

is to pick a business, a labor of love, and just pour your 100% soul into that, build that thing up. And then once that's build up, start, you know, build another thing. You see people like Elon Musk doing all that stuff and other people like that.

You see, Russell Brunson, his team forced him he was he was doing the the jumping horses. And a lot of internet marketers kind of fell into it started that way, when they're pioneering the way they were jumping horses, you know, by making after offer after offer trying to figure things out.

And what they figured out is anyone successful, like super successful is figured out, focus on one business and just you know, one product and just make it the best product on the market. And so you have different people doing that. I'll name a few people you have Alex Becker doing doing that.

And what's cool about what he's doing is very minimalistic in a way so that it takes away a lot of noise. And he doesn't have to like work 4000 hours a week, and also their stuff

on different projects, and living hand to mouth by creating, you know, by his income, relying on the new offer of the month, or, you know, all this other stuff. But basically just focusing on one business and mastering that business. And then you have Russell Brunson is doing better way better.

At this particular time of the recording, again, focusing on one business where again, his team basically forced him to do that and got him out of the jumping horse ease.

But there are exceptions to the rule. I'll say someone like Frank Kern, jumps horses a lot.

And again, I don't know these people personally don't know they're, you know, everything they're doing. And I could be totally wrong. But this is the perception from an outside point of view.

You can tell as a you know, as you're following people, whether it's clear what they do or not. And so, it's just much more clear what someone like Alex Becker is doing or what someone like Russell Brunson is doing, as opposed to what Frank Kern is doing.

But the one thing I do like about what Frank Kern is doing is, as he's jumping horsies and making tons of offers, and they don't seem to be very cohesive, and kind of all over the place, he is in love with the art of marketing. And I think he does that on purpose. I don't think he does. I know he does on purpose.

Because he just loves the art of trying new things and pioneering the way and, and all the other stuff. And just discovering new stuff. And I think that's, you know, that can definitely fit in. That's pretty cool.

And, you know, I believe at this point, he's doing better than Alex Becker, who's focusing on one business, but he's growing that business and I think that people that are growing that one business will actually succeed all the horsey jumpers

but at the same time, the heartbeat, horsey jumpers you can learn a lot from and are very fun.

And again, I don't know I don't you know, maybe Frank heard the horsey jumper and, and building a, you know, one bus, I don't know. But it appears

you know, from a very far point of view, that the people that focus on one

specific business at least starting out and kind of building that business to sort of very successful and they come known

You know, and kind of make a name for themselves. As far as like, you know, I built this company to 100 million, or whatever it is,

I think it's easier to build a company $200 million, than to jump horsies

because every time we jump horses, he kind of have to start over.

You're kind of always in, you know,

it's almost like panic mode in a way where I gotta, I gotta sustain a certain lifestyle, so I got to keep making offers. And you're kind of tied to that. That's certainly something I don't envision myself getting stuck into jumping horses, and creating whole bunch of offers and making it super,

you know, just confusing as to what what is the what is what does Derek do with his business, you know,

and so, you know, right now, as of now, my business is to help

companies that have an, and I've seen Frank Kern actually start doing this with the, with the Ro az.org. So that's a little plug for him,

as a thank you for the content that he's put up is cool. But basically, it really is the way to go, when you get to a certain level of marketing, where dealing with beginners is horrible. Leave that to the many, there's an ocean of people doing that. And they're just, you know, if you go to the Warrior Forum, it's one of the worst examples of how to do marketing.

Because people are nickel and diming. And you have you have, this is a situation there, okay, you have the most demanding customers that make zero money, so they have no money, and you are having to sell product for literally $7.

And then you have to like have all the little upsells and tiny little upsells, by the way, in order to even try to break even or make a little bit of money. And it's just, it's just a real pain. And then your refund rates are insanely high, because they're poor to begin with my high end client in business that I did before this project here, I just stuck with high end clients, nothing was lower than $2,000.

And in fact, when I went to 5000, there was no such thing as a refund request, I never got one at that level. And so in the customers were just super high caliber quality customers, and you only need to make one sale, I'll tell you right now, it's much easier to get one $5,000 sale than it is to get $3,007 sales every single time every day of the week.

Okay, and actually cost you less than advertising cost you less stress, you'll have less support tickets, you'll have less problems, because you only deal with a few people.

You know, and so that's just my personal experience of the high ticket. And that's actually on the low end, I mean, high ticket can go up to 100,000 a million dollars, whatever it is.

But so I definitely recommend picking an actual business that you want to stick to long term and do that.

And, you know, if you like to jump horsies and stuff on the side, I think that's totally cool. There's nothing wrong with it if you have the bandwidth and the ability to do it, by all means.

But I think from what I've observed is people that stick with you know, their primary main objective, their primary rain business.

You know, people like Grant Cardone and all the other people love them or hate him or whatever it is,

you know, it's very clear as to what business they're doing.

And they stick with it. And, you know, like Russell Brunson, for example, the Click Funnels, you know, that's what he's doing. You know, it's very clear, okay, he's building Click Funnels, and he's just gonna probably spend the rest of his life building that thing up to over a billion dollars. So I really think that it's easier to focus on that.

Because it just takes away the distractions. You don't have to keep starting over and shifting gears. But instead, you're shifting gears in a different way where you're like, Okay, how do I grow this business? What else can I do? And your thought processes in the same category?

And so you can look at it like okay, you do I go deeper?

Do I go wider in this market. And the other thing that I would look at is being a person that kind of orchestrates the whole thing, where your, your skill set is more about putting together a team that works in concert, the best that can run your business for you, if you're sick in the hospital bed.

Your business won't die in three days, okay? So sometimes making yourself the brand is really hard, especially if you want to turn around and sell that business and retire, if you are the dude, if you are the product, if you're if the business is dependent on you, and your personality and reputation, stuff like that.

It's gonna be extremely hard to sell that business because that's kind of the businesses you so I really would refrain from making the business about you, and or being the avatar for your business, so to speak.

You know, you got like GEICO, you have the little gecko, I mean, they can sell the business, you wouldn't know that they even sold the business and they could still use that Gecko. You know, I think that's a very smart play. Doing it that way. You know, because at the end of the day,

you know, it doesn't depend on you even being alive, so that business can continue to grow. For your children and your children's children, you're building a true asset.

So these are some wild thoughts. But the end of the day, I think the big takeaway here is focusing on one business that you want to build, and just build that one business. I think it'll save you a ton of time, it'll give you more freedom, it will give you more stability.

And you need to and it will help you to build the best possible product that you can the best possible service that you can for the people that you're serving in that business.

If you're doing that, no one can catch up with you know, and can defeat you. And so I think that,

you know, by focusing and picking a business and sticking with it, that stick to itiveness is going to be a massive advantage in your little bag of tricks. So there's some thought for today. All right, God bless
